The Supreme Court of Nova Scotia will host a swearing-in ceremony in Membertou on Tuesday, December 10, to honour the Court’s newest judges – the Hon. Shannon B. Mason, the Hon. Shane D. Russell and the Hon.

The Hon. Justice Jillian Barrington, formerly a judge of the Provincial Court of Nova Scotia, is the newest judge of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia.

Jennifer Stairs, Director of Operations for the Nova Scotia Judiciary, is the 2024 recipient of the Canadian Media Lawyers Association’s (CMLA) Freedom of Expression Award.

The Hon. Justice D. Shane Russell, previously an Associate Chief Judge of the Provincial Court of Nova Scotia, has been appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia.
