Closure Notice

Please be advised that the Antigonish Justice Centre (11 James Street) will be closed on Wednesday, December 10. This closure is required due to impacts on the courthouse related to nearby road work. Provincial Court matters will be held at the Antigonish Supreme Court (172 Main Street). Court inquiries can be directed to 902-863-3369 (December 10 only). The Justice Centre is expected to reopen on Thursday, December 11.

Updated Official Consolidated Civil Procedure Rules and Forms Now Online


The updated version of the official consolidated Civil Procedure Rules that incorporates the amendments approved by the judges of the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal on Sept. 30, 2024, and by the judges of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia on Dec. 13, 2024, is now available on the Courts of Nova Scotia website.

The updated version of the official consolidated Forms that incorporates the amendments approved on June 11, 2024, has also been posted online.

The unofficial searchable index of the Rules on Qweri can be found at https://qweri.lexum.com/w/nsc/cpr-en. Work is continuing to ensure the headers for the sub-rules are included in the interactive Table of Contents on Qweri.

The Civil Procedure Rules of Nova Scotia govern proceedings in the province's Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. They are made and amended by the judges of those Courts under the authority of the Judicature Act.
