Update to Court Operations at Devonshire Courthouse
Following flooding and water damage, remediation work at the Devonshire courthouse (3380 Devonshire Ave., Halifax) has continued. In-person matters have recommenced, and the Court Administration Office is now operational at its usual location on the lower level. Mail collection/drop-off remains on the main floor, as does the front counter for the Family Law Information Program (FLIP). Further updates will be provided.

Updated Official Consolidated Civil Procedure Rules Now Online

The updated version of the official consolidated Civil Procedure Rules that incorporates the miscellaneous amendments approved by the judges of the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia on June 19, 2026, is now available on the Courts of Nova Scotia website.

The official PDF version of the consolidated Rules is posted on the Rules page at https://www.courts.ns.ca/operations/rules. That PDF version now includes a full interactive Table of Contents like the one previously offered through the unofficial Rules on Qweri.

The Civil Procedure Rules of Nova Scotia govern proceedings in the province's Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. They are made and amended by the Judges of those Courts under the authority of the Judicature Act.
