CAC-536312 – His Majesty the King v. Dante Cromwell
The Crown appeals a July 2024 Provincial Court decision to stay charges against Mr. Cromwell pursuant to s. 24(1) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Mr. Cromwell had been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, as well as a number of other offences, including assault with a weapon, uttering threats, common assault, possession of a prohibited weapon, and other weapons related offences.
This appeal hearing is scheduled for a half-day, starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. It will be heard by a three-member panel comprised of Justice David Farrar, Justice Carole Beaton, and Justice Robin Gogan.
