Festival of Hope

On October 4, 2016, the Mental Health Court team took part in the 9th annual Festival of Hope, an annual celebration to mark Mental Illness Awareness Week. This was the third year that the event was held in Alderney Landing in Dartmouth, and the first time that the Court has taken part.

Organized by the Canadian Mental Health Association of Nova Scotia, the 9th annual Festival of Hope featured almost 30 community, government and mental health groups showcasing the services they offer to people living with illness and their families. Several of these organizations partner with the Mental Health Court, so it was a natural fit for the team to take part.

With music, snacks, door prizes and lots of friendly conversation, the event was once again a great success. An even larger celebration is planned for the festival's 10th anniversary in October 2017. Stay tuned for more details in the months to come. For more information on past Festival of Hope events or to get in touch with the CMHA, go to the CANADIAN MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF NS WEBSITE >>
