Swearing-in Ceremony Held For Third New Judge:

The Honourable Judge Jean M. Dewolfe was sworn-in to the Provincial and Family Courts of Nova Scotia at a ceremony in Kentville on Friday, December 18th.

Chief Judge Patrick Curran of the Nova Scotia Provincial Court and Chief Judge John Comeau of the Nova Scotia Family Court are pleased to welcome Judge Dewolfe to their Courts along with The Honourable Judge Richard J. MacKinnon and The Honourable Judge Del W. Atwood. Judge MacKinnon and Judge Atwood were sworn in on Friday, November 27th at ceremonies in Port Hawkesbury and Pictou.

.Judge Dewolfe is from Wolfville. She graduated from Dalhousie law school in 1985 and was a practicing member of the Nova Scotia Bar for 23 years.

She was a partner in the firm Muttart Tufts Dewolfe and Coyle since 1990. The primary focus of her practice was family law.

She is now sitting in Amherst.

   

Judge MacKinnon is from Troy, Inverness County. He graduated from Dalhousie law school in 1976 and was a practicing member of the Nova Scotia Bar for 32 years.

He was a senior Crown Counsel with the NS Public Prosecution Service in Port Hawkesbury.

He is now sitting in Bridgewater.

   

Judge Atwood is from New Glasgow. He graduated from Dalhousie law school in 1983 and was a practicing member of the Nova Scotia Bar for 24 years.

He was a senior Crown Attorney with the Public Prosecution Service in the New Glasgow office.

He is now sitting in Truro.
