SWEARING-IN CEREMONY FOR NEW
SUPREME COURT JUDGE

Justice Elizabeth Jollimore was sworn-in at a ceremony at the Law Courts in Halifax on Friday January 2nd, 2009. She was appointed Justice of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia in late November, 2008.

Justice Jollimore earned her Bachelor of Arts in 1983 and her Master of Arts in 1985, both from Dalhousie University. She received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto in 1987 and was admitted to the Bar of Nova Scotia in 1988.

Justice Jollimore practiced law with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt in Toronto, was an associate at Stewart, MacKeen & Covert and successor firms in Halifax and, most recently, has been a litigation partner at Stewart McKelvey in Halifax. During her 20 years of practice, shehas developed an expertise in family law.

She was also a member of several professional associations, including the editorial advisory board of Canadian Family Law Guide and “Family Law Matters.”

Justice Jollimore sits in the Family Division of the Supreme Court in Halifax.
