MLA's Win First Glube Cup Charity Hockey Tournament

Nova Scotia's Members of the Legislature skated away with the first annual Glube Cup in mid April. The tournament (and cup), named in honour of recently retired Chief Justice Constance Glube, also included teams of Crown Attorneys, Defence Lawyers, and Judges of the various courts.

Through a grueling schedule of two games in two nights, the four teams battled it out at the Halifax Forum. Professional pride was at stake and, although the rules were "amicable", the play, at times was not. But the idea was to have some fun ... and collect cash and food for Feed Nova Scotia (formerley The Metro Food Bank).

In the end, the MLA's younger legs won out. They were barely breathing hard when Madame Chief Justice Glube presented them with their "just deserts".

The name of the last place team is being withheld "in order to protect the egos".
