Members of the Judiciary

Judicial authority for the Family Court is vested in the Judges of the court, who have jurisdiction in areas of the Province outside the Regional Municipalites of Halifax and Cape Breton. Administrative, judicial support, and quasi-judicial functions are provided by Chief Clerks and their staff.

Judges of the Nova Scotia Family Court are appointed by the Nova Scotia Minister of Justice. Some Judges are jointly-appointed to the Family Court and the Provincial Court but sit primarily in one or the other. In the list below, the Court in which the Judge sits most of the time is show first (Family/Provincal or Provincia/Family).
