The Honourable Justice R. Lester Jesudason

Justice Jesudason comes to the Bench from the Halifax law firm of Blois, Nickerson & Bryson LLP where he was a partner since 2002. He joined the firm as an associate in 1997 after being admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar. His areas of practice were Administrative Law, Civil Litigation, Employment, and Insurance & Personal Injury.
Justice Jesudason received a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Acadia University in 1993 and a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University Law School in 1996. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2014.
He has been the Vice-Chair and Chair of the Nova Scotia Police Review Board. He has also been very active as a volunteer on a variety of committees of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society as well as the Canadian Bar Association, Nova Scotia Branch (CBA-NS). His volunteer work with with these two bodies has ranged from member of the Barristers' Society Ad Hoc Equity Committee to former Chair of the CBA-NS Executive.
He has been part of the pro bono lawyer roster of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, representing parties in its Restorative Board of Inquiry process. He was also a pro bono lawyer with the community service organization, reachAbility.
Justice Jesudason joins members of the Judiciary sitting at the Supreme Court Family Division courthouse on Devonshire Ave. now that Justice R.J. Williams has elected to become a supernumerary Judge as of April 18th.
