Courtroom # 6 Long Trial (Halifax) and Youth Court
In
Provincial Court on Spring Garden Road

Counsel are advised that Courtroom #6 (CR#6) at the Spring Garden Road location of the Provincial Court of Nova Scotia will be hearing cases for Halifax and Youth Court matters starting in March 2009. In September 2009, CR#6 will start hearing long trial matters for Halifax. Four months a year will be dedicated to Youth Court matters.

To qualify for dates in CR#6 a matter must require four days or more. All cases will be pre-trialed and time requirements will have to be justified. Bail-denied accused needing earlier trial dates may also seek dates in CR#6.

Judges Jamie S. Campbell and Anne S. Derrick will the CR#6 judges. The clerks will be Arthena Devoe (424-3516; devoea@gov.ns.ca and Jason Warham (424-8717; warhamj@gov.ns.ca)

All Youth Court matters will be docketed into CR#6 from the Youth Court (CR#5).

The Youth Court months in CR#6 will be September, December, March and June.

January 2010 and Following:
January, February, April, May, July*, August*, October and November will be Halifax Provincial Court long trial months in CR#6. (*subject to whatever downtime to accommodate judges’ vacation.)

March, June, September and December will be Youth Court months in CR#6.
